I used to think bowls and trays were just filler decor that people put on coffee tables because every interior design photo seems to have one. Lately though, I've noticed they're actually pretty useful. A tray on a console table somehow keeps keys, sunglasses, and random bits from looking messy, and a good bowl can make a shelf feel finished without much effort.
